Popped along during its opening weekend and we had a very enjoyable time...busy but not so busy you could barely breathe, quick service and music that we actually liked.

Suited everyone in our party as we all have very different tastes of a night out

I was not expecting this......tiny door opposite the station leading you downstairs to what has to be one of the most unexpected drinking spaces in the city.

I attended the opening of Be AT One last night and have to say i'm impressed. The  menu is extensive....like i'm talking a short novel filled with classics and favourites as well as some more unusual creations. The hardest part of the evening was deciding what to have, but I do like the fact that they have a flavour wheel to help you decide. As I was not drinking I went for a reese's milkshake.....it was pretty epic. I love reese's anyway they are like my absolute guilty pleasure....that orange glow on the confectionary counter regularly gives me life....and in a milkshake it does not disappoint. Calorific but as a little treat why not!

Our bar server was friendly and chatty and was quick to serve the drinks and offer any explanation we needed. The music was ok but the lighting in the venue was really something. Pink flashes of light down the walls give a nice high energy effect without being too intrusive/clubby.

As I was writing this I am going from a four to a five star.....as cocktail bars go what more can you ask for. Great selection, friendly staff, prime location and as far as I understand it they are opening late a lot of the week. A very welcome edition to Birmingham that i'm am sure will be here for a long time. Go and take a look!

Go experience this place! Be At One is great new addition to the city. You'll be spoilt for choice with 140 cocktails listed on their menu, and the staff know many more off menu ones too. If for any reason you cannot make your mind up (you may get that Netflix dilemma of what to chose) you can us their app that will give you a random cocktail you have never tried and will only be £5. If you are used to Be At One in London the menu is slightly different, missing are champagne cocktails. The prices are very fair indeed. Quality of the drinks is good; the bartenders are well trained, they'll always be consistency and quality kept high. They also have happy hours between 4:30 and 7 where you can get two of the same drink for £10.  If you do not like your cocktail tell their bar staff and they'll make you something else and all being of no extra cost to you.

The execution is fantastic. Seating comfy, lighting adds a great vibe (there are also hidden moving lights that come on later in the evening), interior looks great. I was told there is 64 DMX512universes (getting technical). There is music but it isn't stupidly loud, you can have group conversations. Of which the sound system is great too, and the room acoustically treated.

Only concern is with accessibility - it is downstairs in the basement so not so great for people with mobility issues.

I'll review this review for Be At One Birmingham after it has had time to settle in. I've only been twice, once the Tuesday before it opened and on the opening night itself. For now, I'm very impressed.

I visited on a Tuesday early evening and luckily it was happy hour!
There was a bouncer on the door checking ID and he was a friendly chap. The bar staff were quick to ensure we were greeted as we walked through the door and explained the happy hour offer then brought menus over to the table.

Inside it's quite dark (being underground n' all) the lighting I found quite tacky, and distracting as there were multi coloured sequence lights - like a Christmas tree behind where we were sitting.

The menu is huge! All of the classic cocktails as you'd expect, with a few custom recipes exclusive to the bar. The happy hour 2-4-1 offer only applies if you purchase two of the same drink, which meant we couldn't really experience the variety on offer.
I also found the drinks to be quite expensive. £8.50 for one cocktail I guess is pretty average for a city centre bar but there's better mixed drinks, and more exciting bars in Birmingham.

The staff were great though, even the guy doing email captures on his iPad made conversation with us. It's right opposite New Street Station/Grand Central so if you have spare time before or after a train it's a decent stop off.

Be At One is located a minute away from Grand Central Station in Birmingham. The bar itself is underground in what use to be a old cinema. Its a very dark environment (as most good bars are) and you can easily lose track of the time of day here. I was here for the launch event and the vibe inside was fantastic. The staff are super fun and make it a fun experience for everyone. Be At One apparently spend £5000 training their staff, and it shows! The team are happy to emulate the nature of the sort of bars you would see typically in the states. Lots of singing, dancing, and throwing drinks around is a staple.

The drinks them selves are great with over 100 cocktails being available on the menu. As much fun as it is looking through a cocktail catlogue the staff are happy to assist and create a drink to your liking. They have ice cream on hand so the palette for different sorts of cocktails is quite good.

If your looking for a cool bar to just kick back and relax, or two step the night away this is one of Birmingham's finest options!
